my summer was somewhere in the middle -- a lot of traveling, gardening and festivals interspersed with bouts of editing (and finishing!) my first screenplay. not sure what comes next, but settling into that haziness and just trying to appreciate how far I've come. would also like to finish my stack of nightstand books before the year ends...
also, I haven't read the zine, but I can guess the publication and now I'm so curious!
Congrats on finishing your first screenplay! That it so so exciting.
I have a few copies left of the zine if you’d like to purchase! There are also a few copies at Skylight Books and Stories in LA and Quimby’s in NYC (depending on where you are!)
Completely relatable! I studied abroad in Italy and didn't write. I felt guilty for not writing during my first time abroad, but I just wanted to relish in the moment. That being said, our words will always be there, but with a different vivacity when we are inspired, so I am going to try to capitalize on those moments a lot more moving forward.
Hope you are well and good to see my favorite newsletter revived <3
Highly recommend reading Gloria Anzaldúa's essay that I linked in the newsletter – it made me feel so much less bad about not writing, and actually encouraged me to get back into it without so much self-judgement.
Hope you had a good time in Italy! & ty for reading! I feel so honored to be a favorite (-:
welcome back! i feel so bad when i don't write but i never feel like i'm in the right space to create anything worthwhile so this was a perfect read, thank you

So glad you’re back.
