When I was in high school we were allowed to wear tank tops but they had to be a certain thickness (no thin/spaghetti straps allowed). It was ridiculous. This was also in the 2009-2012 period of time though.
This seems to be the general consensus. I went to school in California (not sure if that makes a difference) and I honestly don’t quite remember any sort of dress code being enforced.
